Helena Gay Dixon

Helena Gay Dixon, born December 23, 1936, passed away April 27, 2017 after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Mom was the youngest child of LaVelle Stevens and Rowena Stevens Walters (Alf). She married the love of her life Ronald D. Dixon on April 20, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children: Kevin (deceased), Kelly (deceased), Jim (Lindsey), Melyn (Shane) and Gordon (Brenda). Mom's life was her family. She taught us all the importance of life, happiness and unconditional love. She was the world's best Granny to 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored every moment spent with her. Mom was the organist in her ward for 54 years. Her beautiful music and talent will be missed along with her fabulous meals, German Chocolate cake and cinnamon rolls. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Quality Home Care & Hospice, specifically, Jules and Ruth who helped us all over the past 6 months. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Park Ward, 3671 South Oldham Street (4180 W.). Viewings will be held Sunday, April 30th, 5-7:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again at the church Monday prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
