Harvey Tidwell Christensen

Harvey Tidwell Christensen was born April 29, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He peacefully passed from this world to the next, cared for by his loving wife of 64 years on August 15, 2017 in West Valley City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and daughter. He is survived by his wife, two sons, four granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson. He attended grade school and North Sanpete High School (class of 47) in Mount Pleasant Utah, Snow College in Ephraim Utah, 1947-1950 and Brigham Young University in Provo Utah 1954. He was a drummer in various bands from grade school through college. He served his country during the Korean War from 1950-1952 and was honorably discharged. He fell in love with and married his perfect wife in 1953. They lived in the Salt Lake Valley, 1957-1998 They worked together through life, raising their family. His enjoyed his career helping people in grocery stores as a produce manager. Retiring in 1985, he enjoyed time with his granddaughters, tending his garden, fruit trees and reading. They left together for warmer weather to Mesa Arizona in1998, returning to Utah in 2014 to be with family once again. He was active in the LDS church, holding several church positions and served a stake mission while in Mesa Arizona. He enjoyed playing games with his family, reading history and philosophy and had a weakness for luxury cars, particularly convertibles. Funeral services will be Friday, August 18, 2017.
