Georgia Steimle Archibald

Georgia Steimle Archibald, 71, passed away at her home in West Jordan, Utah, Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Georgia was born February 29, 1944 in Ogden, Utah She was the third of four children born to Maxwell Stephens Steimle and Margaret White. Georgia's growing up years in Malad, Idaho were always looked back on with great happiness. After graduation from Malad High with top honors, Georgia moved to Los Angeles CA for a couple of years to work for Bank of America and then moved to Salt Lake City to work for Walker Bank as secretary to the branch president. After waiting for her childhood sweetheart to return from an LDS mission, she and Dennis Archibald were sealed June 9, 1966 in the Logan Temple. Georgia was a loving wife and devoted mother. She loved children and in addition to giving life to and caring for her own 6 children she provided a loving home for 35 foster children. Georgia had wonderful homemaking skills, including sewing, home canning, and cooking. She loved to read. We had many great family vacations and camping trips. Georgia was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed serving others. She held many positions including relief society president, cub scout leader, Sunday school, primary, and YW leader and teacher. She loved the temple and served with her husband as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brother Dennis; and 2 children Aaron George and Margie Sue. She is survived by her husband Dennis; son Paul (Sandi); daughters Lisa Weber, Denise (Joshua) Stark and Amy Cardoza; brother Richard (Sharon) Steimle; sister Elaine Gartin; and 9 grandchildren.
