Dorothy Irene Maynard Parker

Our loving mother, Dorothy Irene Maynard Parker, 87, passed away peacefully March 3, 2015. Dorothy was born March 22, 1927 in Burley, Idaho, the third of eleven children born to Theodore and Sarah Helen Etherington Maynard. She spent the majority of her youth growing up in South Jordan, Utah. On January 27, 1945 she married Warren Albert Parker in Salt Lake City, Utah; their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Warren and Dorothy were married for 61 years and made their home in Bennion, Utah where they raised their family. They had 5 children: David Warren (Janet) Parker, Farmington, UT; Kathy Irene Parker (Les) Greene, Sandy, UT; Craig Parker (deceased when an infant); Bradley Ted Parker, Bayfield, CO; Carol Parker (Rick) Metcalf, Sandy, UT; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by brother, Reed (Sylvia) Maynard, Bountiful, UT; sister, Linda Gurney, Lehi, UT. Preceded in death by her husband, Warren; son, Craig; son-in-law, Richard Lynn Metcalf; parents and 8 siblings. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Riverview Ward, 5550 South 1325 West. Viewings will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
