Dennis LeGrand McDougal

Dennis LeGrand McDougal passed away on the morning of May 28, 2016 at the age of 73, while recovering from recent surgery. He was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin on August 30, 1942, to Edmund and LaRea McDougal; he is the third son of seven children. At the age of six he moved to West Jordan, where he grew up on his parents dairy farm, married, raised a family, and lived for the remainder of his life. He married Pauline Walk on April 24, 1964. Together they have nine children; Denise (Dayton Hughes), Kevin (Cindy), Keith (Cynthia), Jay, James (Susan), Paul (Karina), Paulette, Spencer (Veronica), and Shane. They have 24 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. He was always interested in what his kids and grandkids were doing, and loved to tell stories to them. During his life Dennis was dedicated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; where he served a mission in Northern California, and as a Bishop and Counselor in the Stake Presidency in West Jordan. He was also involved in State Farm Bureau Young Rancher Association while a dairy farmer early in West Jordan. Later he worked at STOR-N-LOCK in Sandy and Smith's Market Place in West Jordan. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at River Oaks 1st Ward Building, 8825 South 1095 West, where a viewing will be held at the church, Thursday, June 2nd, from 6-8:00 p.m., and at church Friday, 9:30-10:40 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the West Jordan City Cemetery.
