Dean A. Jones

Heaven gained another angel on Oct. 21, 2016. Dean Jones was born on July 29, 1930, to Douglas W. and Wave Peterson Jones in Park City, Utah. He married Billie Measom on Sept. 9, 1949. Survived by loving wife of 67 years, Billie; children, Dean (Beverly) Jones, Deanne Johnson, Janet Smuin, Colleen (Doug) Ball, and Kyle (Tonya) Jones; son-in law, Ernie Howcroft; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Rex (Gloria) Jones. Preceded in death by daughter, Marti Howcroft; grandsons, Dustin Jones, and Mat Johnson; son-in-law, Vaughn Johnson; and sister, Nelda Daniels. Dean graduated from South High School in 1948. He retired from Safeway Stores after 40 years of cutting meat. He was President of Safeway Credit Union and owner of 3D Car Wash. He loved the outdoors - spending time hunting, fishing, and the Strawberry Pinnacles. A graveside service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 S. Highland Drive, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at the Jones Residence. All are welcome to attend.
