Caroline Ruth Jarvis Hovey

Caroline Ruth Jarvis Hovey returned home to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family at the age of 75 in West Valley City, Utah on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from natural causes. Born July 23, 1941 in St. George, Utah to Brigham Hilton Jarvis and Carrie Maud Higley, the oldest of 2 children. She grew up in Granger, Utah where she participated in dance, choir and violin. She graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah. Caroline married her eternal sweetheart, Ronald Hall Hovey, in the Salt Lake Temple on November 6, 1959. They had 7 children. She was a stay at home mom 25 years and worked at Deseret Industries and ZCMI. She served in the Jordan River Temple and was a devoted primary and visiting teacher. She lived in Wellington, Croydon, Grantsville, and West Valley City, Utah. She enjoyed spending time with her family. When their son Neil was terminally ill with cancer, Caroline helped provide around the clock care for 4 years until his death at age 15. Caroline also spent several years caring for her aged parents until their deaths. She loved her family, her Creator and friends. Caroline is survived by her children Ronda, Linda (Steven) Hansen, Carl (Jodi), RuthAnn (John) Prescott, Keith (Karissa); 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Ronald Hall Hovey; daughter, Diane Marie Gonzales; son, Neil Ronald Hovey; granddaughters, Alexis Toni and Celeste May Hovey; parents; brother, George. The family thanks her doctors and Hunter Hollow Care Center staff for their excellent care and the many others who visited and provided acts of service. Funeral Services will be held at 12 PM Saturday, June 24, 2017, Harman LDS Ward Building, 4634 W Harmon Drive (3700 S), West Valley City, UT. Friends may visit from 10:45-11:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT.
