Betty Lou VanderSchuur

On May 7, 2018 our sweet Betty Lou VanderSchuur passed away at the age of 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was lovingly called Mamaws by many. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Pratt; and her granddaughter, Arica Pratt. She was known for having unconditional love for everyone. Betty was born in Las Animas, Colorado and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 41. She worked at Equitable Life & Casualty Insurance Company for 25+years. She retired at the age of 70. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of Arica. She was also known as a dance grandma and attended all of Arica's dance competitions. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and being around people. Her family would like to thank Huntsman Cancer Institute along with friends and family for their overwhelming support. A viewing will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, 12-2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road. A graveside dedication will be held immediately after at 2:30 p.m., at Valley View Memorial Park . A celebration of life will be held that evening from 6-8:30 p.m. at 1379 Cancun Way, Riverton.
