Aloma J. Tanner

July 8, 1945 — September 23, 2014

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully Tuesday morning September 23, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with a genetic lung disease. Mom you are in a better place now free from all the pain, limitations, and hardship this ugly disease brought upon you. Your kind spirit and gentle soul will surely be missed but never forgotten. We love you very much! Aloma was born on July 8, 1945, to Wallace and Verna Plumley. Aloma married Aldolf "Larry" Salinas and had two sons, Brian and Chris, and then later divorced. Aloma then married David Tanner and had two sons, Rick and Shane, and then later divorced. Mom loved the great outdoors and looked forward to the fall hunting season to spend time with her family. Never did a fishing season go by without mention of the wonderful times spent on Strawberry Reservoir trolling. Strawberry will always hold a special place in our hearts thinking of all the wonderful memories we shared with you there. She loved everyone in her family so very much and that was very evident with the smile that always shown upon her face when she spoke of everyone that visited her or who had called her during this very difficult time. Aloma also loved her ex-husband David so very much. Dad you will always be her one true love and your willingness to help mom through all of this meant the world to her and to all of us. Aloma Jean Tanner is survived by ex-husband David Tanner; ex-husband, Aldolf "Larry" Salinas; sons, Brian Salinas (Suelyn), Chris Salinas, Rick Tanner (Cindy), and Shane Tanner (Gina); sisters, Kathy(Jim), Sharon, and Sherrie; brother, Larry(Mary); grandkids, Danielle, Keifer, Keaton, Kiera, Tiffany, Travis, Christina, Nick, Ashley, Alexis, Austin, Becka, and Colin; and great-grandkids Jayden, Jacob, Jayana, and Ava Grace. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace John Plumley; mother, Verna Mariea Welchman Plumley; brother, Dallas; and sister, Elaine. Aloma's wish was to be cremated and to have a celebration of life memorial gathering on her behalf. The gathering will be held Wednesday Oct 1, 2014, from 6-8pm at McDougal Funeral Home at 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT.
