Aileen Louise Larson Roothoff "Together Again"

December 29, 1923 — April 23, 2017

On Sunday, April 23, 2017 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Aileen Louise Larson Roothoff passed into the arms of her loving, eternal companion. She was born December 29, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Bessie Larson. She is the oldest of 12 children. She grew up in the avenues west of Capitol Hill. She graduated from West High School in 1942. On March 11, 1946 she married the love of her life, Dirk (Dick) J. Roothoff in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. He passed away November 9, 2008. She has missed him so much since then and we are grateful for her joyous reunion with our sweet father. Mom was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. She worked for Sears, Mormon Handicraft and Beehive Clothing. But her greatest accomplishments were within the walls of her home and family where love was always in abundance. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of our Savior and His gospel. She is survived by her children Judy (Jim) Maughan, Debbie (Royden) Orton, Mark (Kelly) Roothoff, and Jan (Lynette) Roothoff; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brothers and sisters Gustie Conradsen, Bonita (Wendell) Fackrell, Laverne Johnson, Doris Larson (sister-in-law), Doug (Sue) Larson, Ceceile (Carl) Lightfoot, Dale (Grethe) Larson, Annette (Ron) Richards, Doraine Orton (Sister-in-law); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Dirk J. Roothoff; son John Carl Roothoff; great grandson Nathan Orton; her parents Carl and Bessie Larson; parents-in-law John and Marie Roothoff; brothers and sisters Don and Golda Larson, David Larson, Jerry and Evelyn Thompson, Rosemary Cornell, Natalie Roothoff (sister-in-law) Stan Johnson, Rex Conradsen, John Roothoff, Hal Orton (brothers-in-law).
