Rita Ann Franco, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend died peacefully on August 2, 2015. She was born on January 5, 1934 in Wendell, Idaho to Tony Cabrera and Frances ("Pancha") Gomez. Rita married Mauro Franco in 1963, and their love flourished for over 50 years. Rita was a fiercely independent and proud woman who possessed an incredible passion and zest for life. She lived every day to the fullest. Her love and generosity were boundless. She loved her family and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of strong religious faith. Rita operated a child daycare center for almost 50 years, providing tender love, care, and attention to hundreds of children. She raised these children as her own, and was like a mother to them. Rita loved to laugh, listen to Mexican music, bake lemon meringue pies, and celebrate birthdays and holidays with her family and friends. She was an amazing, remarkable woman, and will be immensely missed by the people whose lives she touched. She is survived by her beloved husband Mauro Franco; children, Jimmy (Julia) Gurul, Barbara (Ray) Lozano, Carl Salazar and Richard Franco; grandchildren Andres, Catrina, Nicholas, Joshua, Jesse, Santiago, Alejandro and Sophia; and great-grandchildren: Talia, Elisia, Deja, Kalani, Kobe, Kayden, Kennedy, Kylee, Kamrynn, and Aribella; sister and brother-in-law Darilyn and Jos Chacon; nieces DeAnna and Suzanne; and nephews Ricardo, Vicente and Sony. Rita is preceded in death by her son Manuel Gurul; and her sister Marian Amador. The viewing will be held at 6:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, August, 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. The rosary and viewing, and funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 7832 South Allen Street, Midvale. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. Services under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. Place of Birth:Wendell, IdahoPlace of Death:Murray, Utah
